Aluminum Railing Systems

Aluminum Railing Systems At Kalyon Aluminum, we provide project-specific aluminum railing solutions that combine aesthetics, safety, durability, and long-term performance. Our aluminum railing systems are suitable for balconies, terraces, staircases, gallery voids, ramps, pool areas, garden walls, roof terraces, villas, hotels, shopping centers, public buildings, commercial developments, and special architectural projects. Aluminum railing systems are among the most preferred architectural safety solutions thanks to their lightweight structure, corrosion resistance, modern appearance, and low maintenance requirements. Their ability to be applied in different colors, surface finishes, and design alternatives makes them highly compatible with glass systems, façade solutions, aluminum joinery, composite cladding, and contemporary architectural concepts. Our project process is not limited to manufacturing. Each railing application is evaluated through a complete workflow including site survey, precise measurement, technical detailing, structural connection assessment, material selection, fabrication, surface treatment, installation, and final quality control. The function of the building, environmental conditions, wind exposure, user density, floor connection details, parapet structure, and architectural expectations are all carefully considered in order to determine the most suitable railing system. Aluminum railing systems can be designed as post-supported railings, glass railings, handrail systems, horizontal or vertical profile railings, parapet-mounted railings, side-mounted railings, and bespoke architectural railing solutions. While glass railing systems provide transparency and uninterrupted views, profile-based systems emphasize rhythm, safety, and architectural definition. Depending on the design language of the project, minimal, modern, classic, or fully customized railing solutions can be developed. The aluminum profiles used in railing systems are selected to provide high strength, dimensional stability, and long-term performance. Connection points, anchoring details, support posts, base plates, handrail profiles, and intermediate elements are critical components that directly affect the safety and durability of the system. For this reason, the strength of the connection details, the suitability of the fixing surface, and the precision of installation are evaluated as priority criteria in every application. In glass aluminum railing applications, laminated safety glass is preferred to provide a higher level of safety. Glass thickness, glass type, fixing method, and support system are determined according to the location of the railing, height, usage intensity, safety requirements, and architectural expectations. Clear, smoked, bronze, reflective, extra-clear, patterned, or custom glass options can be used to achieve both safety and visual elegance. Surface treatment quality is one of the most important factors for railing systems used in outdoor areas such as balconies, terraces, façades, and pool surroundings. Aluminum profiles can be finished with electrostatic powder coating, anodizing, or special surface treatment options to ensure long-lasting durability. In coastal regions, high-humidity environments, and buildings exposed to harsh weather conditions, coating quality and pre-treatment processes are especially important for corrosion resistance and color stability. Aluminum railing systems can be produced in various colors according to the architectural concept of the project. RAL 7016 anthracite grey, RAL 9005 black, RAL 9016 white, RAL 7039 grey tones, bronze, stainless-steel effect, matte, glossy, textured, and custom finishes are commonly preferred. Color selection is evaluated together with façade cladding, aluminum joinery color, glass type, flooring material, and the overall architectural identity of the building. Safety in railing systems is not limited to height alone. Post spacing, gaps between intermediate profiles, child safety, anti-climb detailing, glass edge protection, handrail ergonomics, and the strength of all fixing elements must be considered as a complete system. In staircase and ramp applications, user comfort is supported through easy grip, continuous handrail lines, correct height, safe transitions, and proper alignment. Before installation, precise site measurements are taken, floor and parapet conditions are checked, anchoring points are evaluated, and technical details are prepared in accordance with the architectural project. During fabrication, cutting, drilling, special detailing, surface treatment, and assembly preparations are carried out under controlled production standards. During installation, alignment, leveling, axis control, fixing strength, glass placement, joint details, and finishing elements are completed with meticulous attention. At Kalyon Aluminum, we provide not only standard aluminum railing systems but also bespoke architectural solutions tailored to each project. For modern villas, we offer transparent glass railings that preserve the view. For hotels and commercial buildings, we provide durable systems designed for intensive use. For public buildings, we develop safety-oriented solutions. For residential projects, we offer aesthetic and functional alternatives. For coastal areas, we apply surface-treated systems with enhanced resistance against corrosion and environmental effects. With proper design, correct material selection, and high-quality installation, aluminum railing systems provide safe, elegant, and low-maintenance performance for many years. Through Kalyon Aluminum’s manufacturing experience, technical detailing capability, and disciplined site execution, every project is delivered with railing solutions that are compatible with the building’s architecture, usage requirements, and technical needs.

Aluminum Joinery Systems

At Kalyon Aluminum, we provide project-specific aluminum joinery solutions that combine aesthetics, durability, energy efficiency, safety, and long-term performance. We deliver aluminum window, door, storefront, sliding, lift-and-slide, folding, fixed frame, entrance system, and bespoke architectural joinery applications for residential projects, villas, hotels, hospitals, schools, shopping centers, offices, public buildings, commercial developments, and special architectural structures. Aluminum joinery systems are among the most preferred building components in contemporary architecture due to their high strength, slim profile appearance, compatibility with large glass openings, wide range of color options, and long service life. The lightweight yet durable structure of aluminum, its resistance to corrosion, and its adaptability to different architectural details make aluminum joinery systems highly effective both aesthetically and technically. The quality of an aluminum joinery system should not be evaluated only by the profile brand. Profile section, wall thickness, thermal break structure, glass configuration, gasket system, hardware quality, connection details, installation precision, and the physical conditions of the building all play a decisive role in overall performance. For this reason, instead of applying a standard solution to every project, the correct system must be selected according to the function of the building, façade orientation, wind exposure, solar gain, acoustic requirements, security expectations, and architectural design language. Aluminum joinery systems can be applied as thermally insulated systems, non-insulated systems, door systems, window systems, sliding systems, lift-and-slide systems, folding door systems, storefront systems, fixed glazing systems, fire-rated special solutions, and project-specific architectural details. While more economical and lighter systems may be suitable for interior spaces, thermally insulated systems with high sealing performance should be preferred for exterior applications. In thermally insulated aluminum joinery systems, a thermal break is positioned between the inner and outer aluminum profiles. This barrier reduces direct heat transfer between outdoor and indoor environments and contributes to energy efficiency. Especially in residential buildings, hotels, hospitals, offices, and continuously occupied spaces, thermally insulated systems provide significant advantages in terms of user comfort and energy savings. When combined with the correct glazing configuration, they help control solar heat gain in summer and reduce heat loss in winter. Non-insulated aluminum joinery systems are generally preferred for interior partitions, indoor storefronts, warehouses, technical areas, enclosed passageways, economical applications, or projects where thermal performance is not a primary requirement. These systems have simpler profile sections and provide functional and cost-effective solutions when used in the right areas. Glass selection is one of the most important factors determining the performance of aluminum joinery systems. Single glazing, double glazing, triple glazing, tempered glass, laminated safety glass, low-e coated glass, solar control glass, acoustic glass, reflective glass, extra-clear glass, smoked glass, or bronze glass options may be evaluated according to project requirements. Thermal insulation, sound control, safety, privacy, solar control, and aesthetic expectations must all be considered when determining the glass combination. Low-e coated glass helps reduce heat loss, while solar control glass can improve indoor comfort on façades exposed to intense sunlight. In insulated glass units, cavity width, spacer type, and gas filling are also important details that affect performance. For projects requiring acoustic insulation, the joinery profile alone is not sufficient; glass configuration and installation details are equally important. The use of glass panes with different thicknesses, laminated acoustic glass, high-quality gaskets, and properly insulated installation gaps can significantly improve sound performance. In projects located near heavy traffic, airports, schools, hospitals, hotels, and city centers, acoustic performance becomes one of the key criteria in system selection. Air and water tightness in aluminum joinery systems is directly related to profile geometry, gasket quality, drainage channels, sash-frame connections, corner joints, and installation details. In exterior joinery applications, proper drainage channels must be designed for rainwater discharge, and threshold and lower frame details must be carefully resolved. Incorrect installation, weak insulation, insufficient sealant application, or improper drainage detailing may reduce the performance of the entire system. Wind load resistance is especially critical for high-rise buildings, exposed façades, coastal regions, and projects with large glass openings. Profile section, reinforcement requirements, glass thickness, fixing frequency, and anchoring points must be evaluated accordingly. In wide-span joinery applications, system selection should not be based only on appearance; structural capacity, sash dimensions, opening type, and operational safety must be analyzed together. Opening types are another major factor affecting user comfort and system performance. Single opening, tilt-and-turn, top-hung, concealed sash, outward opening, inward opening, sliding, lift-and-slide, parallel sliding, folding, and automatic door systems may be preferred depending on the project. Sliding systems provide practical solutions for narrow spaces, while lift-and-slide systems offer high comfort and strong insulation performance for large panoramic openings. In balcony, terrace, and garden transitions, threshold detailing, water drainage, and ease of use must be carefully considered. Hardware quality plays a decisive role in the long-term operation of aluminum joinery systems. Hinges, espagnolette mechanisms, locks, strikers, handles, sliding rails, rollers, lift-and-slide mechanisms, door closers, panic bars, automatic door equipment, and fixing accessories must be selected according to usage intensity. In hotels, retail stores, public buildings, and commercial areas, hardware groups designed for intensive use should be preferred. Poor-quality hardware may lead to sash sagging, difficult operation, air leakage, locking problems, and premature performance loss over time. Surface treatment determines both the visual quality and outdoor durability of aluminum joinery. Electrostatic powder coating, anodizing, wood-effect transfer coating, metallic finishes, matte, glossy, textured, or special color options can be applied. RAL 7016 anthracite grey, RAL 9005 black, RAL 9016 white, RAL 7039 grey tones, bronze, champagne, stainless-steel effect, and custom architectural colors are frequently preferred in projects. In coastal regions, high-humidity areas, and demanding outdoor conditions, surface pre-treatment and coating quality are especially important. When selecting colors for aluminum joinery systems, aesthetic preference alone should not be the only criterion. Façade cladding, glass color, interior design, flooring materials, building concept, and maintenance expectations should all be evaluated together. Dark colors create a modern and strong architectural appearance, while lighter colors provide a cleaner and more spacious effect. In dual-color systems, the exterior and interior surfaces can be produced in different colors, allowing façade harmony and interior design compatibility to be achieved at the same time. In terms of security, aluminum joinery systems must be evaluated together with glass type, locking system, hardware quality, and sash structure. In ground-floor areas, villas, retail stores, and easily accessible façades, laminated safety glass, multi-point locking systems, reinforced hardware, and security-focused details may be preferred. Depending on the function of the door system, panic bars, door closers, electric locks, automatic door motors, access control systems, and special security accessories can also be integrated. Installation quality is as important as manufacturing quality in aluminum joinery systems. Before installation, precise site measurements must be taken, wall opening tolerances must be checked, and floor and parapet levels must be evaluated. Frames must be installed level and plumb, fixing points must be connected to structurally sound surfaces, appropriate anchors and fasteners must be used, and the gaps between the frame and wall must be sealed with correct insulation materials. After installation, sash adjustments, locking points, gasket pressure, drainage outlets, and general operational performance must be checked. The project process begins with a site survey. During this stage, existing building dimensions, opening details, façade orientations, intended use, preferred opening types, glass expectations, color selection, insulation requirements, and architectural details are determined. The appropriate system is then selected, technical details are prepared, application drawings are produced when necessary, and the manufacturing process begins. During fabrication, cutting, machining, corner assembly, gasket placement, hardware preparation, glazing preparation, and quality control stages are carried out. During installation, site coordination, transportation, placement, fixing, insulation, glass installation, hardware adjustment, and final cleaning processes are meticulously managed. At Kalyon Aluminum, our goal is not only to supply products, but also to ensure long-term satisfaction through correct system selection and proper installation. Depending on the technical requirements of the project, economical, mid-range, premium, or bespoke architectural system alternatives can be offered. Slim-profile and large-glass solutions may be preferred for villa projects; intensive-use systems for hotels; storefront and entrance systems for commercial buildings; security and durability-focused details for public buildings; and enhanced surface-treated systems for coastal regions. When properly designed and installed, aluminum joinery systems add significant value to a building in terms of thermal insulation, acoustic comfort, security, aesthetics, natural daylight, panoramic view continuity, and long-term performance. With Kalyon Aluminum’s manufacturing experience, technical detailing capability, high-quality material selection, and disciplined site execution, every project is delivered with aluminum joinery solutions suitable for its architecture, function, and performance expectations.

Aluminum Façade and Shutter Systems

At Kalyon Aluminum, we provide project-specific aluminum façade and shutter solutions by combining aesthetic design, engineering performance, solar control, privacy, safety, durability, and long-term functionality. For residential projects, villas, hotels, offices, commercial buildings, public facilities, shopping centers, social facilities, industrial structures, and special architectural developments, we offer aluminum façade systems, shutter systems, sun-shading solutions, external shutter applications, movable shutter systems, zip screen systems, folding shutter systems, decorative laser-cut panels, guillotine glass systems, and bespoke architectural façade elements. Aluminum façade and shutter systems are not merely decorative components that define the exterior appearance of a building. When designed correctly, they are technical systems that directly contribute to solar control, privacy, thermal balance, wind resistance, façade integrity, user comfort, and energy efficiency. Therefore, in every project, architectural appearance, structural support, connection details, surface quality, durability of moving mechanisms, service access, and ease of maintenance must be evaluated together. The project process begins with site survey and technical analysis. During the survey stage, façade orientations, sun exposure duration, wind effects, floor height, opening dimensions, intended use, privacy requirements, view expectations, color preferences, automation needs, façade cladding materials, and existing structural surfaces are examined. Based on this evaluation, the most suitable solution is determined among fixed, movable, manual, motorized, decorative, or high-performance system alternatives. Aluminum façade systems can be applied as composite panel façades, aluminum sheet cladding, aluminum profile façade elements, sun-shading systems, decorative façade panels, aluminum details integrated with glass façades, and custom-manufactured architectural envelope solutions. The main objective of these systems is to strengthen the architectural identity of the building while creating a durable, long-lasting, and low-maintenance façade surface resistant to exterior conditions. Shutter systems are complementary building elements that provide solar control, thermal balance, privacy, safety, and user comfort. External shutter systems, movable shutter systems, aluminum shutter systems, motorized shutter systems, folding shutter systems, and custom-designed shutter solutions can be applied to windows, balconies, terraces, storefronts, villa openings, and large façade surfaces. When selecting the system, opening size, frequency of use, wind exposure, motor requirements, maintenance access, and architectural appearance must be evaluated together. External shutter systems offer practical solutions due to their ability to be installed on existing buildings and integrated into the façade. In these systems, the shutter box, side guide rails, slat structure, motor selection, connection points, and water drainage details must be designed correctly. In all shutter systems operating outdoors, wind resistance, rail stability, slat locking, and motor protection options are essential for long-lasting performance. Movable shutter systems allow users to control daylight and privacy. Hinged, sliding, folding, or motorized movable shutter solutions create a dynamic façade appearance while also functioning as sun-shading elements. In these systems, hinges, rails, rollers, supporting profiles, connection plates, locking details, and movement mechanisms must be selected according to usage intensity. Especially in large openings, system weight, panel dimensions, and wind effects must be technically evaluated. Fixed sun-shading systems are used to control direct sunlight on the façade and improve indoor comfort. They can be applied with horizontal or vertical aluminum louvers, box profiles, specially designed sun-shading profiles, and decorative support systems. On south, west, and east façades, the direction, spacing, depth, and installation angle of the louvers should be determined according to the sun path. Correctly positioned sun-shading systems reduce glare indoors, add architectural depth to the façade, and contribute to energy efficiency. Zip screen systems are modern shading solutions used in areas requiring exterior solar control and wind resistance. Thanks to the fabric system operating within side guide rails, they provide controlled closure over openings. They are suitable for balconies, terraces, restaurants, winter gardens, pergolas, villas, and commercial areas. Fabric type, color selection, openness factor, motor system, wind sensor, and installation surface must be correctly determined before application. Guillotine glass systems are solutions that transform semi-open areas into controlled and comfortable living spaces through movable glass panels. They can be used in restaurants, cafés, terraces, balconies, winter gardens, and social areas. In system design, glass thickness, panel dimensions, motor group, supporting profile, safety sensor, drainage detail, and service access are important. When designed together with shutter and façade systems, guillotine glass systems provide both aesthetic and functional integrity. Folding shutter systems are special solutions that provide architectural movement and usage flexibility on the façade. By folding the panels sideways, the opening can be controlled, and the level of sunlight and privacy can be adjusted according to user needs. In these systems, rail systems, hinge groups, panel load-bearing capacity, locking points, and surface treatment quality must be selected correctly. In large-scale systems, supporting steel or aluminum substructure details should also be evaluated separately. Decorative laser-cut panels are custom-manufactured elements used to add aesthetic identity to the façade, provide privacy, and strengthen the architectural concept. Patterns, geometric motifs, corporate identity elements, or architectural compositions can be applied on aluminum sheets, composite panels, or special metal surfaces. In laser-cut panel applications, panel thickness, opening ratio, connection system, rear supporting substructure, coating quality, and wind load must be considered. Profiles, louvers, panels, rails, boxes, connection parts, and supporting substructures used in aluminum façade and shutter systems directly affect system performance. The structural behavior, opening size, fixing points, installation surface, and exterior environmental effects of each system must be taken into account. In wide openings, profile sections and supporting systems may be strengthened, while in high-wind regions, fixing frequency and anchoring details may be increased. Surface treatment is critical for the long-term performance of aluminum façade and shutter systems. Electrostatic powder coating, anodizing, wood-effect transfer coating, metallic finish, matte, glossy, textured, or special architectural color options can be used. RAL 7016 anthracite grey, RAL 9005 black, RAL 9016 white, RAL 7039 grey tones, bronze, champagne, stainless-steel effect, and custom architectural colors are frequently preferred in projects. In coastal areas, high-humidity regions, and aggressive exterior conditions, surface pre-treatment and coating quality are especially important for corrosion resistance. When selecting colors and materials, visual preference alone should not be the only criterion. Façade cladding, joinery color, glass type, architectural concept, surrounding environment, maintenance expectations, and the corporate identity of the building must be evaluated together. Dark-colored shutter and sun-shading systems provide a modern and strong appearance, while lighter tones create a cleaner and more spacious façade effect. Dual-color or different surface-effect solutions can support both the exterior façade and interior character of the building. Motorized operation is an important comfort feature in aluminum façade and shutter systems. In motorized shutters, zip screens, movable sun-shading systems, and guillotine glass systems, remote control, wall switch, central control, smart home integration, wind sensor, sun sensor, timer, and group control options can be applied. When selecting motor and automation systems, system weight, frequency of use, opening dimensions, exterior conditions, and service access must be considered. Water discharge and drainage details are among the most important technical issues in exterior façade systems. Shutter boxes, rail systems, façade cladding joints, glass-aluminum transitions, and lower finishing details must be designed to prevent water from entering the building. In exterior applications, correct slope, concealed drainage channels, proper sealant application, continuous joint detailing, and disciplined installation determine the long-term performance of the system. Thermal comfort, solar control, and user comfort are among the most important advantages of façade and shutter systems. Properly selected shutter, zip screen, and sun-shading systems can reduce direct solar impact, balance heat load on glass surfaces, and improve indoor comfort. Especially in buildings with large glass areas, exterior solar control can provide a more effective architectural performance than interior curtain solutions. Acoustic comfort and privacy control are also important factors in system selection. Although shutter systems do not completely eliminate exterior noise, they create an additional comfort layer when used together with glass and joinery systems. In residential buildings, villas, hotel rooms, offices, and social areas where privacy is important, shutter, zip screen, decorative panel, or movable sun-shading solutions can be integrated into the architectural design. Installation quality is as important as product quality in façade and shutter systems. Before installation, precise measurements must be taken, the substructure must be checked, the installation surface must be inspected, axis and level alignment must be ensured, fixing points must be connected to load-bearing surfaces, and system installation must be carried out according to project details. After installation, operational tests of moving systems, motor limit settings, rail alignments, fixing strength, drainage outlets, sealant applications, and joint controls must be completed. Maintenance and service access should be considered during the design stage, especially for movable shutters, zip screens, guillotine glass systems, and motorized applications. Accessible service details must be provided for motor replacement, fabric maintenance, rail cleaning, slat control, mechanism adjustment, and periodic inspection of connection elements. Properly planned service access contributes to trouble-free operation of the system over the years. At Kalyon Aluminum, we develop not only standard product applications but also project-specific technical and architectural solutions in aluminum façade and shutter systems. For modern villas, we offer zip screen and sun-shading systems that preserve the view; for commercial buildings, large-span façade and storefront solutions; for hotels and restaurants, guillotine glass and movable systems; for residential projects, safe and aesthetic shutter applications; and for public and special buildings, decorative panel and façade systems that strengthen architectural identity. When correctly designed, aluminum façade and shutter systems do not only add aesthetic value to a building; they also provide significant advantages in solar control, privacy, safety, energy efficiency, user comfort, and long-term exterior durability. With Kalyon Aluminum’s manufacturing experience, technical detailing capability, high-quality material selection, and disciplined site execution, aluminum façade and shutter solutions are developed for every project in accordance with its architectural identity, intended use, and performance expectations.
