Project Description

he smoking area located within the Atatürk Airport premises was redesigned to provide users with a safe, comfortable and sheltered outdoor space. As part of the project, a modern and integrated architectural appearance was achieved through aluminium composite panel cladding applied over the supporting structure. The covered roof system provides protection against external weather conditions such as sunlight and rain, while recessed ceiling lighting ensures sufficient illumination for evening and night-time use. Transparent glass railing systems were installed around the perimeter to improve safety without compromising the open and spacious character of the area. The glass panels, supported by aluminium base profiles, create a durable and minimal solution that remains visually compatible with the existing building façade. The arrangement of the seating areas, pedestrian access routes and existing façade elements was carefully considered during the design and installation process. Functionality, user safety, durability and architectural harmony were prioritised throughout the project. The on-site measurement, technical detailing, fabrication and installation works were successfully completed by Kalyon Aluminium.
